Red, White and Blue Wedding Ideas

Whether you're having a 4th of July Wedding, Labor Day Weekend Wedding or you just love the Americana theme, you can do some cool things with a red, white and blue wedding! With Independence Day just a few days away, we thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite red, white and blue wedding ideas. From decorations to food and everything in between, these ideas are perfect for any summer wedding.

Patriotic Decorations

During the summer season, there's no shortage of patriotic decorations. Between Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day, you can stock up on a variety of red, white and blue decorations to make your wedding ceremony and reception look amazing. While you don't want to overdo the theme, adding some flags down the sides of the aisle or some red, white and blue confetti on the reception tables is a great way to add some color to your wedding. If you're crafty, you're sure to find some simple DIY projects for a patriotic wedding on the internet, such as homemade stars and stripes pinwheels for table centerpieces or a cute patriotic wedding sign. Be sure to grab some patriotic plates, napkins and cups for the reception too!

Bridal Party Attire

Let your bridesmaids have some fun with the theme. Alternate red and blue dresses, and instead of having them all match perfectly, let the girls pick their own favorite style. Have the groomsmen wear red or blue ties to match. Add a pop of color to your wardrobe by getting some cute red shoes to wear under your dress. You can add some color and still have it look classy. A red, white and blue manicure is also a great way to add a tiny pop of color to your wedding day look.

Wedding Favors

Wedding favors for summer weddings can be super fun! Consider patriotic paper fans to keep your guests cooled off, a parasol to provide shade or red and blue sunglasses. Personalized koozies to keep your drinks cold are also the perfect wedding favor for a summer wedding. Find a good mix of practical and fun to say thank you to your guests for spending this time with you on your special day!

The Reception Menu

From bomb pop cocktails to actual bomb pops, there are plenty of ways to incorporate the fun colors of red, white and blue into the food and drink that's served at your wedding reception. Dip strawberries in white chocolate and then cover the tip in blue sprinkles for a tasty patriotic treat. From fondant stars and stripes to red, white and blue sprinkles, you can find plenty of wedding cake inspiration on Pinterest. Not everything needs to be red, white and blue though. Consider incorporating other summer favorites into your menu such as hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad and watermelon!

Going Out with a Bang

Instead of having your guests throw rice at you, get those fun poppers that are sold with fireworks every year. Speaking of fireworks, why not end your special night with a beautiful light show in the sky. What's more romantic than kissing under the sparkling lights of a spectacular firework display? Be sure to check with your venue in advance to see if shooting off fireworks is allowed. You'll also want to designate someone to shoot them off at a safe distance from the party.
