Which Wedding Dress Style is For You?

If you have been researching and looking for the perfect wedding dress style, you more than likely already have a general style in mind that you like. If you've spent hours on Pinterest, you probably have the perfect dress style in mind but being able to convey exactly what you are looking for during your appointment at our South Florida Bridal Boutique may be a challenge if you're not familiar with popular wedding dress shapes. That's why today, Bridal Couture of the Palm Beaches has a list of popular dress styles.

Ball Gown

Straight out of a classic fairy tale, the ball gown is generally thought of as what a princess would wear. It is a timeless look that will always be in style. Ball gowns have a fitted bodice with a full skirt that flares out at the waist. These dresses seem to float ethereally down the aisle.

A-line

For a little less bounce, but still a full, beautiful skirt, there is the A-line silhouette. You get the fitted bodice, and the skirt gradually flows out from the waist, resembling the shape of an uppercase letter "A." This shape can be a little easier to move around in than the ball gown.

Tea Length

If you prefer a shorter wedding dress, a tea length gown is a lovely solution. It will fall between your ankle and knee, perfect for showing off a pair of fabulous shoes.

Trumpet

Trumpet silhouettes allow you to show off your curves while still giving you a flowy skirt at the bottom. It is fitted down through the body, but flares out around mid-thigh.

Mermaid

This is very similar to the trumpet style, but the skirt flare happens a bit lower, at the knee. It is sometimes also referred to as a fit-and-flare. It will enhance an hourglass shape.

Sheath

Flowing straight from the neckline to the hem, a sheath wedding dress can look both casual and sultry. The fabric used will make a big difference in the feel of the gown. It tends to follow your natural shape and can have a lengthening effect on the body.
