Five Fabulous Tips to Accessorize Your Wedding Dress

You've found your dream dress, and now it's time to accessorize. You can find lots of gorgeous pieces to accentuate the beauty of your wedding gown in our West Palm Beach bridal boutique. Bridal Couture of the Palm Beaches has come up with a few tips for you to keep in mind when you begin your wedding dress accessory shopping.

Accessorize wearing the dress

The only time that you should attempt to pick out accessories to wear with your wedding dress is when you are actually wearing the wedding dress. Trying to pick out what looks the best without your dress actually there is a big mistake. You cannot know how the accessories will truly work together to complete your look unless everything is tried on at the same time. If you find at piece that you absolutely have to have, don't make a final decision until you can bring it to the dress, or vice versa.

Add color

Accessories are a great way to add a pop of color to your wedding day look. If your personality calls for more than the regular whites of bridal attire, use a brightly colored gem in a fabulous pair of earrings, or a large, stunning pendant to add some extra pizazz. Shoes are another wonderful way to sneak in a bit of color.

Match your metals

If you choose to stick with golds and silvers for your jewelry, it's best to keep them all the same. The color of your bridal gown can help make this decision. In general, an all white gown looks best with platinum and silver jewelry. Ivory material on your wedding dress works best with gold, and off-white gowns can actually work well with all of them.

Sometimes less is more

An extremely elaborate dress will not need a lot of accessorizing. You don't want everything you are wearing to be fighting for attention, it should work together, like a team. If there is a lot going on with your gown, then hold back on the accessories. On the other hand, if your dress is a simple design, then you might want to find one bold accessory that will stand out.

Choose belts/sashes wisely

Adding a beautiful belt or sash can completely take your dress up another level of gorgeous. Make sure that it not only looks good with the gown, but it's also the right one for your particular body type. Long torsos look best with wide belts, and shorter torsos lean toward thinner ones. In most cases, a belt should not be more than three inches wide.

The gorgeous jewelry, elegant waist sashes, and every accessory that we carry in our South Florida bridal boutique is hand-picked. We only offer the very best to our brides.
