21 Things to Pack in Your Wedding Day Survival Kit

You've spent months planning so that your special day will go off without a hitch. No matter how well you plan for your wedding day though, anything can happen. To avoid any minor catastrophes, it's a great idea to put together a Wedding Day Survival Kit, just in case an emergency arises. Bridal Couture of the Palm Beaches is here to help you with packing your kit. Keep reading for a list of things you'll want to be sure to include in it.

Wedding Day Survival Kit Packing List

From a torn dress to a makeup disaster, you want to be prepared for anything. Be sure to include the following in your Wedding Day Survival Kit:

1. A Sewing Kit - Make sure you have sewing needles, safety pins, a pair of scissors, hem tape and thread (in colors that match your dress and the bridal parties apparel). This will come in handy if you happen to get any snags or tears, or find any loose threads.

2. Safety Pins - Safety pins can also come in handy for keeping everything in the right place, from ill-fitting dresses to undesirable undergarment appearances.

3. Super Glue - Super glue may come in handy for fixing broken shoes, jewelry or other miscellaneous defective accessories or decor.

4. Bottled Water - One of the most important things to remember on your wedding day is to stay hydrated! Be sure to have plenty of water in the dressing rooms so you and the bridal party can stay hydrated.

5. Snacks - Wedding day jitters have been known to make a bride forget about or skimp on meals while getting ready for the ceremony. A small snack such as a granola bar will help keep your blood sugar levels normal. You don't want anyone in the wedding party fainting or feeling sick before and during the wedding ceremony.

6. Hair Products - You want to look perfect on your wedding day and that includes your hair. With everything going on, from pre-wedding photos to hugging family and friends, you may need some things to touch up your hair style. Be sure to pack bobby pins, hair ties, a comb and some hairspray.

7. Makeup - No matter how late you wait to put on your makeup, you're still going to want to have it around for touch-ups. Lipstick, mascara, eyeliner and foundation all have the ability to smudge or run (especially if its a hot outdoor wedding or you start to tear up). You'll likely want to reapply some makeup between the ceremony and the reception, so bring it with you in your kit.

8. Tissues - Tissues come in handy for more than just blowing your nose. They can help clear up smudged makeup, or be used to wipe tears. Be sure to throw some in your Wedding Day Survival Kit, but then hand some to your maid of honor to keep with her during the ceremony.

9. Pain Medication - Headaches and other body pains can strike when you least expect them. It's a good idea to carry around a pain reliever such as Ibuprofen or Tylenol in case someone in the bridal party is feeling under the weather.

10. Band-Aids - With all the running around and preparation, accidents are bound to happen. Band-Aids are great to have on hand too in case of a small cut or scrape, or for blisters from your shoes.

11. Deodorant - You want to make sure you smell as great as you look on your big day. Be sure to pack some deodorant, and your favorite perfume in your kit.

12. Sanitary Products - Being a woman, its always a great idea to have tampons or other sanitary supplies on hand. You could just be the hero of the day if any of the girls find out they need something unexpectedly.

13. Hand Lotion - Keep your hands silky soft with some hand lotion. A dab of lotion before walking down the aisle can also help your new wedding ring slide on easily.

14. Hand Sanitizer - You may not have time, or a place, to wash your hands regularly while you're preparing for the big day. It's a great idea to have some hand sanitizer on hand to keep the germs at bay and your hands clean.

15. Moist Towelettes - From wiping your hands to keeping your neck cool, some moist towelettes can also come in handy.

16. Disposable Toothbrush - You may not have time to brush your teeth between the time you leave your house in the morning to the ceremony, but you want your breath to be fresh for your big kiss! Grab some of those disposable toothbrushes, floss and mints to keep your breath fresh.

17. White Cotton Cloth - This can be used in case of spills or stains. Use it to dab, never rub, stains or spills on a white dress.

18. Baby Powder - Baby powder can be used to remove some dress stains and keep them from spreading. White chalk can also work to cover up a stain.

19. Nail Polish - Clear nail polish can be used to fix chipped nails. Put a nail file and clippers in the kit too just in case one of your nails gets more than a small chip.

20.  Sunscreen - If you're having an outdoor Florida wedding, it's a good idea to bring some sunscreen. You don't want to get burnt and then be red in all your reception pictures, and/or be hurting on your honeymoon.

21. Bug Spray - Another must-have for outdoor weddings is bug spray. You don't want bugs bothering you while you're trying to dance and have a great time at your reception.

Keep in mind that this is your day! If something small comes up, don't sweat it. The day is too special to worry and stress about thing that are out of your control.
