7 Tips for a Successful Wedding Dress Shopping Appointment

Making an appointment at our Bridal Boutique in West Palm Beach is the best way to find exactly what you are looking for. Bridal Couture of the Palm Beaches is an exclusive store that is accessible by appointment only. If you simply stop by the shop, you run the risk of not getting to try on the gorgeous gowns that we carry.

Making the appointment is only the first step to a rewarding wedding dress shopping experience. Here are a few tips to make sure that your visit to our bridal gown store in South Florida is a successful one.

1. Ask questions, both before and during the appointment.

Preparation is the key to your appointment running smoothly and successfully. When you book it, find out how much time you should plan on being here. Generally, it will take about an hour, but could go longer. Also inquire about styles, colors, and sizes that are in stock, and know the forms of payment accepted and the amount of time it will take to order a gown.

During your appointment, the consultant will be on hand to answer any and all dress questions that you may have. That means don't hesitate, now is the right time to ask them all.

2. Have an idea of what you are looking for.

Do a bit of research before your appointment. Scan wedding magazines and browse online. When you see styles that you love, bring the pictures along with you. This will help you and the consultant narrow down which dresses to begin with.

3. Manage your time wisely.

Show up on time for your appointment, ready to get started. You get our complete and undivided attention while you are here, but if you arrive late, there is a chance that your shopping experience may have to be cut short because of another scheduled appointment. We allow plenty of time for each bride to shop, but if you are not on time, we cannot take time away from another bride because of that.

Communication is very important too. If you know that you will not be able to make your appointment at the scheduled time, call us and we will discuss a solution. Time that you schedule and do not use is taking time away from another woman that needs to find her gown too.

4. Come in ready to dress-up.

We ask that every bride come in wearing the proper undergarments to allow trying on dresses. If you already have the shoes you will wear on the wedding day, bring those with you. It helps to at least wear the size of heel that you expect to wear on the wedding day.

The same goes for accessories. Any heirloom pieces of jewelry that you will be wearing, or if you will be wearing the veil that has been passed down for generations in your family, have those with you. You will want to make sure that the dress you choose works well with them.

5. Only bring helpful people.

It is very important to be picky when you choose your wedding dress shopping entourage. Keep the group to a minimum, and only allow people to join you that are truly helpful, have a positive attitude, and have your best interests at heart.

6. Avoid bringing children, and leave pets at home.

We do not allow pets in the boutique, so leave your four-legged friends at home. We do allow children, but having them at your appointment is discouraged. Kids tend to have much shorter attention spans than adults, and an hour of watching you try on gowns will probably bore them.

Having to entertain a child when you should be concentrating on finding the perfect wedding dress is too much of a distraction for you to make a good decision. If you must bring children to your appointment, make sure that someone in your entourage is in charge of keeping them entertained so you won't have to.

7. Don't take photos.

Our policy does not allow pictures to be taken during a session. Sending someone a photo of a dress on the small screen of your cell phone does not do it justice. It could bring negative comments for a dress that looks amazing in person, discouraging you from getting what you really like.

Another problem with taking pictures of all of the dresses that you try on is that after the appointment, you can miss the best dress in that multitude of photos that you are flipping back through. Finding your dream bridal gown is an emotional decision, not necessarily an analytical one. Go with the dress that you feel beautiful in when you have it on. Once you get that feeling, stop looking because you've found "the one."

Our South Florida bridal boutique is filled with amazing wedding dresses in many styles. The tips above will help to make sure that you will come in with an idea of what you want and leave with exactly what you need.
