Fashion Fun for the Men in Your Wedding

Making sure a bride finds the perfect wedding dress is the mission of our South Florida bridal boutique, followed by outfitting the bridesmaids, mother of the bride, mother of the groom, and the flower girl. Once that's taken care of, there is a very special man and his groomsmen who need some fabulous fashions too!

Bridal Couture of the Palm Beaches has a few ideas on how to add a some extra pizzazz to what the men in your wedding will be wearing. If you want them to stand out a bit from the average suit, try some of these fun possibilities.

Be mindful of the season

When you are picking out wedding fashions for the men in your wedding, don't forget how miserably hot a tuxedo can be in mid-July at an outdoor ceremony. If that's what you want the men to wear, consider getting married where it is air conditioned.

If going a little more casual is a possibility, choose a lighter material for their suit jackets, or skip the jackets altogether and simply have them wear a nice shirt with suspenders and a bow tie.

Jazz up the boutonniere

There are lots of whimsical things that you can use instead of flowers for the men's boutonnieres. Succulents feel a bit more masculine for some gentlemen in place of petals, yet still look elegant. Follow the wedding's theme and incorporate a shell or starfish for a beach wedding, or possibly some feathers if you will be featuring love birds.

The season you are getting married in is another great place for inspiration. Colorful leaves are perfect in the fall, and winter boutonnieres could have sprigs of evergreen. If you want to be a bit more offbeat, use the groom's hobby and make boutonnieres from fishing hooks or action figures.

Add some color

Generally, the groomsmen are dressed in neutrals, and it's the bridesmaids that are decked out in your wedding colors. Colored suits may be too much for you, but adding a few pops of color here and there in the men's fashions can look amazing.

Ties, vests, and even suspenders are an easy way to do this, but if you would like to be more subtle, give the guys brightly colored or wildly patterned socks that only peek out of their pants legs occasionally. You can even put them in bold undershirts that don't come out until the reception dancing gets really intense.

Extra attention for the Groom

Your soon-to-be husband needs to stand out from the pack, so give his look extra attention. After all, he will be standing next to a woman in a fabulous bridal gown all day.

Rather than matching him exactly to the groomsmen, think about putting him in another color completely. If he will be wearing the same outfit as his wedding party, make his "something fun" from above bigger than the groomsmen's. He should stand out fabulously just like you will on this special day.

The way that the men in your wedding are dressed is completely up to the personality and style of the couple getting married. Only you can decide where you want your wedding fashions to fall on the scale of traditional to non-traditional.

The consultants at Bridal Couture of the Palm Beaches are full of excellent advice. Your questions are always welcome, and the staff at our West Palm Beach wedding dress store are happy to help whenever we can. Your wedding day is a very special one. Have some fun with it!
