7 Tips for Making Decisions about Your Wedding

For some brides, making decisions about their wedding day can be extremely stressful. Deciding on details can make them indecisive -about everything. If you're planning your wedding and you find yourself being indecisive about every detail, Bridal Couture of the Palm Beaches would like to offer you some advice. While we understand that you want your wedding to be perfect, it's important to enjoy the process of wedding planning. Today, our bridal boutique in Royal Palm Beach has 7 tips for the indecisive bride.

1) Avoid Conflicting Opinions

If you are already having a hard time deciding on which wedding dress is "the one," a fitting room full of people that can't agree on anything will only hinder the process. When you go shopping, only bring along a few extremely honest friends and family to help you out, preferably ones that share your likes and style.

2) Bring in a Fresh Eye

After a while, looking at the numerous choices available to you, everything begins to blur together. When it gets overwhelming, take a break. Step away from the decision at hand for a while, then come back fresh. If that doesn't work, ask someone else to take a look. There may be a pattern in the things that you have picked out that a fresh, unbiased eye will notice. This can help you to zone in on the best answer.

3) Narrow Down the Choices

Going into the wedding planning process knowing that you are indecisive is a good reason to not look too much. Try to only give yourself a maximum of three things to pick from at a time. The less you give yourself to choose from, the easier the decision will be. If you aren't 100% happy with what you picked out, add a couple of more choices to the mix.

4) Ask questions... LOTS of questions!

The more you know, the clearer a decision will be. When you are unsure, ask the experts any and all questions that you are curious about. One of those answers may be exactly what you need to make the final selection.

5) Trust the Consultants

When it comes to wedding dress shopping, our knowledgeable bridal consultants have been trained and educated in everything that you could possibly need to know, plus, they do this every day and see a lot of different situations. Use their experience and opinions to guide you. If you are having trouble making decisions in other areas of your wedding planning, hire a wedding coordinator.

6) Trust your Gut

Most of the bigger decisions that you will make about your wedding day will have an emotional connection tied to them. Sometimes it's not an analytical decision that needs to be made, but a personal one that you will feel. Turn your brain off for a minute and listen to your heart, or gut, or whatever part of you is speaking the loudest.

7) Once You Find It, STOP  Looking!

When you get that special feeling about something that you have picked out, get it and stop looking. Adding choices to a decision that has already been made will only make you doubt yourself.

In the big scheme of things, any decisions that you make about the wedding are small ones. The big, important decision that should have taken the most consideration was saying "Yes" when he proposed, and that one has already been happily decided. Our staff at Bridal Couture of the Palm Beaches is here to help you make the decision process easy! We are really good at knowing what type of dress looks good on different body types so you won't have to try on as many dresses which will make the decision process that much easier! Make an appointment, take a deep breath, put on a smile, and we'll get started.
